Jesse Shapiro, Vice President of Basketball Operations, Coach
Jesse Shapiro is one of the founding partners of Metro Mavericks. Jesse has over a decade of experience working with and developing some of the top student athletes in New York. Prior to Metro Mavericks, Jesse helped to establish one of the most successful AAU programs in the country, The Rens.
Daniel Kiernan, Coach
Daniel Kiernan has been coaching basketball for 20 years. He started at St. Sebastian CYO as head coach, eventually adding the role of Director to his responsibilities. He has developed athletes at some of the best programs in NYC including Woodside Fighting Phoenix, Team Odom, Metro Hawks and he also coached the St. Marys Manhasset freshmen team for 6 years. He has worked with a number of NBA players as they were growing up including Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Tobias Harris (Orlando Magic), and he has helped place over 24 athletes in D1 basketball schools.
David Dennis, Coach
David Dennis born and raised in Harlem, New York, attended and played basketball at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont NC. He received a BA in Business Administration and MA in Coaching and Administration from Concordia University-Irvine and currently works for St. Raymond School located in the Bronx, NY, as a middle school teacher.
David Dennis served as as Athletic Director and Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at St. Raymond Elementary School in the Bronx, NY for four years. Guided his team to consecutive CYO Archdiocesan Varsity Championship titles. Coach Dennis has compiled a winning record over his past 18 years of coaching in the NYC area on many levels from CYO to adult Pro-Am.
Coach Dennis is also the owner and founder of Crusader Basketball Inc., which is a developmental basketball program that has been providing a viable sports alternative to inner city boys ages 7-18.
Coach Dennis is married to his beautiful wife Delia, and they have raised their children to become responsible and respected students and athletes.
